Dove at first sight...

Something i'd like to share out...which i found.. :) cheers..Have a Good weekend...

It's a tale straight out of Disney – an abandoned baby monkey, close to death, is revived by the love of a bird.

The 12-week-old macaque was rescued on Neilingding Island, in Goangdong Province, China, after being abandoned by his mother.

Taken to an animal hospital, he was weaned back to physical health but still showed little appetite for life.

It was not until a fellow patient, a white pigeon, took him under her wing and showed him love and affection that he perked up.

Now the two are inseparable, say staff.

They are not the first odd couple. In March, we told how a tiger cub in China was being raised by a sow along with her piglets because his mother didn't know how to feed him.

And in 2005 Mi-Lu the baby deer became best friends with lurcher Geoffrey at the Knowsley Animal Park, in Merseyside, after being rejected by her mother

Riding Alone and spinning along

In time competitive spirit can be one that eventually causes the competitive sport addict to become disinterested.. Once you start to lost interest to compete, what else is there to do with this dwindling interest?.Go for a leisure ride?. Yes, the competitor can like both, the race and the leisure aspects- but if you are not in love with the act of cycling and just competing with your opponent- you will eventually call it quits. i well know i can't push for speed forever.

I have encountered the triathlete type who see no fun in the bike if they are not racing... Just to go out and ride is foreign to them..

One amazing thing I shall ever remember, driving down the highway in BATU CAVES going back to Damansara... A group of triathlete males, abandoned a beautiful female triathlete..to ride alone on that extremely busy road. Hell.. maybe she can take care of herself or maybe she want it that way.. but to expose oneself to the factors of these elements of heat, fumes and traffic and fatigue and the belief of invincibility is purely ignorant.

Heah, I am not picking upon Triathletes, just sometimes any of us can take it too seriously..

Biking is great. The people you meet and the stories you hear.. 16 years ago on my First ever race and till now i have meet those whom is still "here" and those whom has gone and came back.. There is always a story out there to learn from one another..is great.. We immediately relate to one another. At least those I meet..
Think it is just not the act of riding long distances itself, but sharing with other cyclist the stories..

For me at this point, i have place an emphasis on " Reconstruction " the qualities of objective training ride again taking a 3 step back to move 5 steps forward method and i goona do it alone or with buddies in times...but i am sure to take the "middle path".

PCC_NEXUS Presidential RIDE 2007

IT'S OPEN!!!! for 60 km of HAMMER TIME.. Mari Tolak Basikal, MTB TIME ....

THE DEAL
Spend a Sunday filling your body with lactic acid and getting sunburnt
over 60km(+/-) of wonderful trails cutting across varied terrain in
Kajang/Semenyih. 3 weekend rides in one! Many new sections with
fabulous singletracks and less tarmac. Something for everyone – fast
fireroads, gorgeous singletracks, lung-busting climbs and adrenaline
pumping downhills. All rideable. Just a matter of how long it takes
you. With an escape route thrown in for the chickens! So whether
you're an advanced beginner or beginning to be advanced, there will be
a ride to remember.

Idea is to just go out and complete all 4 stages linked into one
gigantic loop and qualify for the main draw! It's NOT a race so stop
as often as you wish to savour the sights, sounds and scents along the way. Ride at a comfortable pace. No prize for the fastest! Only for the luckiest! If your enjoyable suffering is reaching the limit, don't worry. We have the Chicken Loop. But as a chicken, of course you don't
get full bragging rights… but you still get a shot at the general draws, as long as you do the first loop and collect the sticker at the first checkpoint!

CHECKPOINTS
There will be 4 checkpoints. So please check in, collect all the stickers on your Ride Passport as proof of ride completion to qualify for the main draw. Some checkpoints double as water stations for you to refill.

THE FINE PRINT (IN BIG LEGIBLE WORDS)
1. All participants must pre-register. Forms are available with our weekly newsletter, at our website or at popular bikeshops (KSH and Bike Pro included). Pre-registering helps us gauge the amount of water and refreshments required. So, register. CLOSING DATE IS 31 OCTOBER 2007.

2. A very big, extremely unreasonable fee of RM25 will be charged to cover costs of organizing and for refreshment and water. Rest assured none of the money will be used for personal shopping at BikePro or KSH Bikes the following week. Promise.

3. On ride day, registered participants will be given a RIDE PASSPORT which must be produced to collect all checkpoint stickers in order to qualify for the main draw.

4. The lucky draw will comprise of types. For those not lucky enough to complete all stages. And for those lucky enough, you will qualify for the main draw!

5. Participants will be given a really nice limited edition T-shirt. This time we mean it.

THE SCHEDULE
7.00am Arrival, check-in and collection of Ride Passport.
7.45am Event and safety briefing.
8.00am Flag off by PCC President
2.00pm Most riders expected back
3.00pm Lucky draws start on the dot, all riders in or not.
4.00pm Go home. Pass out! Hope you had a good time.
Schedule is an accurate approximate and is just to give you a good
idea of the day's event.

EXPECTED RIDE DURATION
Only 5 – 7 hours on a `good' day for average riders! Great warm-up to the Penang MTB Jamboree happening the following month!

REGISTRATION
Registration forms available from main bike shops in the Klang Valley, from our website http://pcc-cycling.freeservers.com and from PCC's weekly newsletter Spokes n Nipples. Please return completed form along with payment to:

IRON-TIVATION

at Thursday, September 13, 2007 1 comments

Reasons to date cyclist.... : -)

  • That bulge isn't just the chamois.
  • Balls of steel.
  • We can go for hours and hours even when it hurts.
  • We know how to take it easy.
  • We know not to go real hard right from the beggining.
  • Smoother legs than you.
  • Skin tight lycra is real easy to take off.
  • Can you say perfectly sculpted legs?
  • Better power-to-weight ratio than a small car.
  • We don't need booths to get our amazing tan...lines.Perfect ass.
  • Diamond cut calves.
  • Incredible thigh definition.
  • Who else can perform for over 5 hours a day for 20 consecutive days?
  • When it gets hard, we find a rhythym and pound away.
  • We go hard and push until it gets even harder.
  • Some days we feel the need to attack, explore, and adventure.
  • We know that everything needs to be properly lubricated before it can be used to its full potential.
  • Even when we're about to explode, we can always hang on a little bit longer.
  • We always have water bottles and snacks laying around for those those times when it gets real long.

INTERSTATE 2007 Pcc Cycling - Feel the love yet?

How does one start writing-up an epical bicycling adventure that starts in the suburbs of Ipoh and traverses to the coastal town of Penang in 80 hours? It is difficult enough to remember exactly what happened right before, during and after those 80 hours, the whole ride seemed a blur. With the knowledge of knowing that this Interstate sets the bar in terms of luxury accommodation, ballroom presentations and not forgetting the food.... Here's what left a lasting impression.

Everyone wakes up,fill up ,gear up,jeered up and meet up at the lounge of casturina hotel.I'd said i'd promised to stay with the group. (which i did not manage to,either too fast or too bonked ).Then blame it on the ever uncertain dynamics of the whole peloton with the rider's personality mixed up with their bikes personality and the exchange of energy between them, i'd swear they are half people , half bicycle .Which in results i came to an epiphany of realizing that every trial and tribulation in a long distance event is root caused by knowingly being there on the bike and "gives'ing it "

And yep folks - it's all in the mind, especially in a cyclist mind riding Interstate 2007.

"When you're out there on the bike, you've got a lot of time to think. And what goes through your mind has the power to get you that extra 50ks or bring you down and make cycling seem impossible."

"when you're out there on the bike , knowingly push on with the fact there is 30 riders following , what goes through your mind to power on for the next 30mins to make the pull"

"when you're out there on the bike , knowingly pushin on with the fact there is 10 riders is catching up on you , what goes through your mind to catch them when they pass by while having limited or no reserves left within to hook on "

I'd says there's no rules for good and bad days.

Sometimes you do 150ks and you feel like you could go on for another 50 more - it might be a beautiful day or you might have a good tailwind. But when you're sun-stroked and burnt and there's another 40 ks to go, sometimes you do want to stop. You have to be able to imagine the friend that's waiting for you , the nice cold shower or the nice cold drink to take you through the last k's .. otherwise you couldn't do it. Knowingly there is an untapped reserve within that guides you thru an autopilot of zen like nature which pushes and says "its alright, you'll make it"

The memories of motion still lingers in the muscles of the legs and round and round they seem to goes.( i'd swear i still feel it now)

Feeling satisfied in life is a matter of finding the right perspective from which to view it. At least that's the conclusion I came to after finishing this year's Interstate 2007.

In epilog,

i'd say its job well done to the PCC committee..i'd thank the collective effort of everyone ( including sponsors, support, camera dudes & dudettes ) in which this will never be able to materialized. i'd say thanks to those extra 110++ rider to make up the amount from last years 150 to 260 this year ( whom dared to register) . i'd say thank for the awesome weather.
and i'd say thanks that everything went well...and no bike were harmed. ;)
